Species Details

The most common diving duck at Radnor is smallish in size, black and white in color, and distinguished by the white ring on its bill. The female is brown with the same bill marking. The subtle reddish ring on the neck is not easily seen. Consumes plants, insects, and mollusks. Summers in northern US and Canada.
