Louisiana Waterthrush

Species Details

Unlike most warblers, this bird has a brown back, white eye stripe, and white breast with dark streaks. One of the earliest arrivals, it may easily be seen walking along the stream at the lake’s east end, distinctively bobbing up and down. Nests in small hollows along steep stream banks. The song consists of three loudly slurred whistles followed by a jumble of notes.
