World Wetlands Day 2022 at Radnor Lake

World Wetlands Day 2022 Volunteer Clean Up and Invasive-Exotic Plant Removal at Radnor Lake State Natural Area Kick-Off Day #1

Come join us on February 2nd at 9am-noon to kick-off World Wetlands Day at Radnor Lake for 1 of 2 opportunities in our 3rd year of celebrating World Wetland’s Day. We will hike along the streams and wetland transition areas that feed into Radnor Lake as part of our watershed protection efforts removing trash and removing invasive-exotic plants. This will be a ranger-led, off trail, muddy and fun clean-up effort that will offer a unique opportunity for our visitors with a different perspective of our watershed protection efforts at the natural area. Volunteers are asked to wear clothes and shoes they can get dirty as we will be working alongside these stream and wetland transition areas to leave these sensitive habitats better than we found it. Bottled water, lunch and high visibility vest will be provided by Friends of Radnor Lake. Volunteers also needed to help sort all of the trash collected as part of our Tennessee State Park Go Green Platinum Level Goals as we sort-recycle all trash collected during this 2-day focus on protecting our wetlands. Registration is required for ages 10 and up, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves and a completed registration form. Radnor Lake State Natural Area is just 1 of 11 locations in North America celebrating World Wetlands Day in 2022 so we hope you come join us for this unique 2-day event to improve our watershed and wetlands!
