Volunteer Trail Day at Radnor Lake State Natural Area on June 25th, 2016
On Saturday morning over 50 volunteers came to Radnor Lake State Natural Area to work with the ranger staff on trail projects along our South Cove and South Lake Trails. These volunteers did an excellent job during the heat this morning!
Volunteers today consisted of our regular park volunteers, Jr. Ranger Interns, girl and boy scout groups and Tennessee Promise Volunteers working with the rangers on a very humid morning.
Over 30 timbers were pulled off the top of South Cove Trail and replaced with new trail erosion techniques the ranger staff learned over this past February during out two weeks of Trail Master Certification funded by Friends of Radnor Lake.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers who came out to help this morning! In addition, special thanks to Friends of Radnor Lake for providing lunch, bottled water and Gatorade for all of us working on the trail!
