Trail Master Certification at Radnor Lake State Natural Area

On February 23rd thru 26th, Radnor Lake State Natural Area was host to a 4 day Trail Master Certification sponsored by Friends of Radnor Lake.
As part of our on-going efforts to improve and maintain the trails at Radnor Lake, Friends of Radnor Lake partnered with Instructor Mike Riter owns and operates a company called Trail Design Specialists. Based out of Georgia they specialize in trail design, construction and education. The education programs consisting of the Trail Master Certification and the mechanized trail construction are recognized nationally as essential programs for creating sustainable, natural surface trails suitable for foot travel, bicycles and equestrians.

- Ranger Will Peters, Radnor Lake SNA

- Ranger Dustin Crowell, Radnor Lake SNA
- Park Manager Steve Ward, Radnor Lake SNA
Mike Riter did an excellent job instructing this class which include improving efforts working with park volunteers on trail projects, professional standards for trails, trail design, efficient long-term maintenance of trail systems and improving overall hiking experiences for our park visitors. Great job this week Mike and thank you for this training!
