Sunset Canoe Float – 07/31/2020

On Friday, July 31st Ranger Matthew Bowling conducted a sunset interpretive canoe float for 8 park visitors. These ranger led canoe floats are offered 2-3 times per week between Memorial Day and Labor Day each year to provide a unique view of the Radnor Lake watershed, viewshed and land acquisition success over the past 48+ years. Each park ranger that leads these floats for the public must go thru Canoe Instructor Training Certification and also be Certified Interpretive Guides. These floats also provide a unique opportunity for our park visitors to experience the natural area with a state park ranger and last approximately 1 1/2 hours.
Registration is required with canoe, lifejackets and paddles being provided for free by the park staff. There is however a $10 on-line registration fee and COVID-19 cleaning-disinfecting of all equipment prior to and after each float to ensure the safety of our park staff and park visitors.
