Spring Land Acquisition Hikes at Radnor Lake State Natural Area (April 9th, 2016)
Radnor Lake State Natural Area began it’s spring land acquisition hike campaign on Friday, March 4th. This years hikes are focused on 53 acres of new property recently placed under contract thanks to the partnership between Tennessee State Parks, Tennessee Division of Natural Areas and Friends of Radnor Lake.
On Saturday, April 9th we were fortunate enough to have Director Roger McCoy with Tennessee Division of Natural Areas co-lead a morning hike with Park Manager Steve Ward for 12 park visitors…….Thank you Roger!
These land acquisition hikes discuss a variety of topics ranging from viewshed, watershed, historical significance, unique plant life and future management plans of the newly acquired property This series of hikes coincide with Friends of Radnor Lake raising 1 million dollars in private funds to acquire needed adjoining parcels of property to provide future trail opportunities.
