Spring Land Acquisition Hikes 2016
Radnor Lake State Natural Area began it’s spring land acquisition hike campaign on Friday, March 4th. This years hikes are focused on 53 acres of new property recently placed under contract thanks to the partnership between Tennessee State Parks, Tennessee Division of Natural Areas and Friends of Radnor Lake.
- On Thursday, April 14th Park Manager Steve Ward and Park Ranger Will Peters co-led a hike for 6 park visitors on the newly acquired land at Radnor Lake State Natural Area.
- On Saturday, April 16th Park Manager Steve Ward, Park Ranger Dustin Crowell and Dr. Doug Heffington (MTSU) co-led a hike for 10 park visitors.
These land acquisition hikes discuss a variety of topics ranging from viewshed, watershed, historical significance, unique plant life and future management plans of the newly acquired property This series of hikes coincide with Friends of Radnor Lake raising 1 million dollars in private funds to acquire needed adjoining parcels of property to provide future trail opportunities.
