Radnor Reopening
Nashville Banner – February 27, 2026
Radnor Lake State Park will reopen at 1 p.m. Monday following cleanup from last month’s winter storm. According to an announcement from the park, that is 60 days sooner than originally projected. On Feb. 6, officials reported that no part of the park “was left unscathed.” At that point, park staff had begun implementation of its storm response plan, which included clearing debris, opening roadways and restoring power to critical areas such as the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center. Last Saturday, 45 volunteers worked with park staff on the first of six planned special volunteer days. This past Monday, another 33 volunteers helped clear debris from spots such as the access trail and the East Parking Lot and to rehabilitate the South Lake Trail. — David Boclair
