Radnor Lake's Jr. Ranger Intern Program 2014 (Session 1)
Radnor Lake had it’s first week of the Jr. Ranger Intern Program at Radnor Lake. Session 1 started on Monday, June 23rd and ended on Saturday, June 28th.
The Junior Ranger Intern Program is funded by Friends of Radnor Lake which includes 5 days of trail work with State Park Rangers along the trail system at the natural area.
On Thursday, June 27th the Jr. Ranger Interns, Radnor Lake Staff and Friends of Radnor Lake volunteers conducted a 10-mile river clean up along the Buffalo River in Flatwoods, TN. Among the clean-up were 24 tires which were recycled thru the Bridgestone Tire Recycling Program which was recently received a Governer’s Stewardship Award on June 23rd by TDEC.
In addition, the Jr. Ranger Interns and Radnor Lake Staff worked with two volunteer groups to conclude this weeks session:
Nissan Volunteers on Friday afternoon, June 27th along the Lake Trail hauling gravel and mulch.
Park volunteers on Saturday morning, June 28th along the Lake Trail and South Lake Trails hauling gravel, mulch and installing fencing to improve the current trail system at Radnor Lake.
