Radnor Lake State Park reopens weeks ahead of schedule, after volunteers aid ice storm recovery

WTVF News Channel 5 – March 2, 2026

Thank you to WTVF NewsChannel 5 for highlighting the next chapter at Radnor Lake State Natural Area.

What once looked like months of recovery was completed in just five weeks — a testament to dedicated Park Rangers and volunteers who stepped in to help restore the trails.

And while the landscape has changed, nature is already adapting. Fallen trees will become food sources and habitat for birds and small mammals, creating new opportunities for wildlife to thrive.

As visitors return, the focus shifts forward. Later this summer, some of the hardest-hit areas will be transformed into native grasslands — strengthening habitat and supporting pollinators like Monarch butterflies.

Recovery is never just about rebuilding. It’s about renewal. Watch the full story here: Radnor Lake reopens early after ice storm, volunteer effort
