Radnor Lake State Park Prepares to Welcome Injured Bald Eagle

Thank you to News Channel 5 for visiting our Barbara J. Mapp Aviary and helping us share some exciting news!
The Aviary enclosure renovation is nearing completion, thanks in large part to our incredible Park staff and volunteers who have been hard at work all summer preparing the space.
And this is why the Aviary is here. To provide a safe place for raptors who cannot survive in the wild—to live, thrive and help us teach others about their species.
Bald Eagle #3 was facing euthanasia because of her injuries, but U.S. wildlife officials determined she is a wonderful candidate for the Aviary. Once the enclosure permit is approved, there’s still some paperwork to complete, but if all goes as expected, we anticipate she will join us by the end of the year.
Radnor Lake is proud to be a recipient of the Nissan Neighbors Grant, funded by the Nissan Foundation in support of our volunteer program. We’re incredibly grateful to the Nissan volunteers who have given their time, energy and muscle to help prepare her new home.
We’ll keep you posted as this exciting next chapter takes shape.
