POSITION SUMMARY:
In Nashville, Tennessee, the Friends of Radnor Lake State Park 501C3 is seeking a savvy professional who excels in hands-on implementation and service oriented leadership to continue the ongoing successful public/private partnership with Tennessee’s first designated State Natural Area. This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to build on 45 years of partner- focused support of the park. Radnor has grown to hosting over 1.5 million visitors per year and has grown through the land trust activities of the Friends partnering with many others and in particular with the State of Tennessee to 1400 acres, double its original size. This flexible-time, exempt status position reports to the President of the Board of Directors. Responsibilities include Management and implementation of the operational responsibilities of the Friends of Radnor Lake (FORL) organization to serve and support the organization’s mission to protect, preserve and promote Radnor Lake State Park and Natural Area. These operations involve Board support and communication, financial management, fundraising, marketing, grant support, special events, donor relations, office operations, and relations with key partners and stake holders. Success of activities requires smooth coordination with park management staff.
Principal Functions:
Financial/Operations
• Manages FORL financial requirements and serves as member of the Finance Committee
• Prepares initial annual budget as working document for finance committee, follow up monthly on budget vs. actual
• Manages Book keeping: daily receipts and expenditures
• Manages QuickBooks account, bank accounts, file taxes
• Pays all bills, manages FORL annual budget with at least bi-monthly project budget and grant expenditure updates and reporting
• Reconciles monthly financials with an independent reviewer
• Manages audit with auditors
• Files various annual state required documents, e.g. license plates and charitable solicitations
Donor Relations
• Manages CRM* data base/Little Green Light for timely and accurate donor data
• Inputs all donor information with specific donations, including pledges, for tracking
• Generates mailing lists for events, invitations, year-end cards, newsletter etc.
• Communicates with donors, e.g. , thank you and follow up phone calls and letters with safe/secure handling of donor information
Fundraising /Marketing/Events
• Helps prepare and follow-up on grant applications; insures compliance with FORL objectives and mission
• Tracks donations and pledges
• Markets FORL on social media, FORL web site and e-blasts (web site updates at least monthly)
• Designs mailings e.g., year end giving cards and newsletters
• Oversees events: Radnor in the Round, Chestnut Art Show, Annual Environmental Awards and other special events
• Manages special projects and public relations
Land
• Tracks FORL land holdings
• Helps support processing acquisitions and transfers
FORL Board and Park Management
• Coordinates board meetings and communicates related board information; prepares for and manages logistics and materials
• Works with and supports various board committees
• Coordinates FORL work, events, meetings and scheduling with Radnor Lake Park management staff
