November 2014 Program Schedule

Unless otherwise noted, reservations for activities open at 10:00 A.M. on the Sunday before the program and will be taken until it is full.  Please call 377-1281 to sign up.

Volunteer Trail Day at Radnor Lake State Natural Area

  • Saturday, November 22nd at 8am.  Join the Radnor Lake Staff, REI Staff, Hands on Nashville, Jr. Ranger Interns and Friends of Radnor Lake for our monthly volunteer day.  We will be working on a variety of projects ranging from mulching trails, Ganier Ridge Trail step project and/or working on invasive-exotic plant removal.  Lunch, gloves and bottled water provided by Friends of Radnor Lake. No reservations necessary.

 

After Thanksgiving Hike—-Harris Ridge Hike

 

  • Friday, November 28th at 2pm. Join Park Manager Steve Ward for an afternoon hike to one of the park’s newest ridgetops that was acquired in 2011 in a partnership between the State of Tennessee and Friends of Radnor Lake. See the view from the top and learn about the historical and natural features of this property. Meet at the East Parking Area off of Franklin Road. Bring water, a walking stick and wear sturdy shoes.

 
This strenuous hike is off-trail and will last about 3 hours. Reservations are required and open Sunday, November 16th at 9:30am. Ages 18 and up.
