New Year’s Day Sunrise Hike to Harris Ridge
20 park visitors joined us at 6am for a strenuous interpretive sunrise hike from the Walter Criley Visitor Center to Harris Ridge as we kicked off 2023 with our focus on the Harris Ridge Trail Project.
This 4 1/2-mile strenuous hike highlighted future trail construction corridors through these back areas of the natural area. Hike participants also took New Year’s Day to give back, as we worked together to learn about and pull invasive-exotic plants along our future trail path.
Hike participants got to enjoy the scenic views on the ridgetop known as Harris Ridge (Tract #1) which was a critical 37-acre tract acquired in 2011 thanks to the partnership between the State of Tennessee, the Harris Family and Friends of Radnor Lake.
Thank you to our 20 visitors who joined us this morning to start off 2023!
