Naturalist Trail Workshop
This past Wednesday and Thursday Radnor Lake hosted a “Trail Assessment & Building 101” workshop for members of the Tennessee Naturalist Program. The workshop was led by Michael Meister, the Tennessee State Park Trails & Vista Administrator. The topics included basic trail design, dynamics, construction, problem recognition, and most importantly trail assessment. All members left with a new found sense of the amount of hard work and critical thinking that goes into creating and maintaining sustainable trails. This workshop is a result of a partnership with the Tennessee Naturalist Program and the Tennessee State Parks Trails Program that will be incredibly valuable as the trails program works towards its first Annual Trail Assessment of all 1,200 miles of trail located across our State Park system, which will begin this November.
