National Trails Day Morning Hike & Eagle Nest Viewing

Over 17 visitors joined us for an early morning hike (6am) for National Trails Day 2023. Our hike started at the Walter Criley Visitor Center with a brief PowerPoint history of our second ever documented American Bald Eagle Nest, then we departed out on the lake trail for a hike (rated as easy) to the Lake Trail Observation Deck where State Park Rangers Paul Schauer and Matthew Bowling set up viewing spotting scopes to provide a first-hand glimpse at our eaglets about to fledge the nest.
