National Public Lands Day at Radnor Lake State Natural Area (Sept. 26th, 2015)
On September 26th, Radnor Lake celebrated National Public Lands Day with a special volunteer day as we kick off construction of our new observation deck project on the lake trail. Over 70+ volunteers coming out to the natural area on a rainy morning to work with the park ranger staff on our new observation deck project, which is being fully funded by Friends of Radnor Lake. When complete this deck will consist of 3 individual decks that are wheelchair accessible with two seating areas and a special observation deck platform for ranger-led spotting scope programs.
In addition, Friends of Radnor Lake were set up at the Visitors Center today to meet and greet with park visitors, sell t-shirts and support the park by feeding all of our volunteers pizza from Granny White Market. Thank you Lyndy, Gretchen and Dan for taking care of our volunteers today!
Park visitors Dana and Rick Short donated over 25 cases of bottled water to the park to support our volunteer efforts for NPLD and this fall….Thank you Dana and Rick!
