National Public Lands Day at Radnor Lake

As part of National Public Lands Day, the Radnor Lake Staff, Friends of Radnor Lake, Hands on Nashville and REI staff hosted a special volunteer work day at Radnor Lake.

85 volunteers attended the event with t-shirts provided by REI and lunch by Friends of Radnor Lake.  Volunteers assisted the park ranger staff with trail projects on the Lake, South Lake and South Cove Trails.

In addition, Dr. Doug Heffington from MTSU Global Studies Program along with Friends of Radnor Lake Board Member Robin Conover assisted Ranger Sam King with installation of a new interpretive kiosk panel at the east parking area. This interpretive panel has been years in the making and gives park visitors a better understanding of the human-land relationship with landowners before the natural area was created in 1973.

At 2pm, Dr. Robert Loeb from Penn State University lead a environmental research hike for park visitors and staff to discuss the on-going research with Radnor Lake over the past 6+ years.
