Memorial Day Kick-Off Harris Ridge Trail Volunteer Day (May 24th, 2019)

32 volunteers came to Radnor Lake on Friday afternoon, May 24th (2pm-6pm) to help us kick off Memorial Day 2019 as we continued our work on the Harris Ridge Trail Project. Volunteers worked with Ranger Paul Schauer and Tennessee State Parks Trails Coordinator Michael Meister to clear/cut our path for our new trail known as the Harris Ridge Trail Project.
This was 1 of 2 volunteer opportunities scheduled for our volunteers in May 2019. Park management would like to thank all of our volunteers who came to help us on Friday afternoon, including Boy Scout Troop 86!
Special thanks to our friends at The Church of the Advent for working with us to allow parking/meet up for this special volunteer day and to Friends of Radnor Lake will be providing bottled water, gloves and insect repellent for our work day! This is one of several upcoming volunteer days for the Harris Ridge Trail Project and our long-term goal of creating a new 3-mile trail to connect from Franklin Road to Otter Creek Road.
We do it all again next Friday (May 31st), as we kick off National Trails Day Weekend at Radnor Lake with another Harris Ridge Trail Volunteer Day (2pm-6pm). Any group volunteers and/or for any additional questions, please contact Lyndy Maness at lyndy.maness@tn.gov or at 615-373-3467.
