Master Trail Building Class at Radnor Lake

During the week following National Public Lands Day Radnor Lake State Park hosted 11 Park Rangers from across the state as they participated in Master Trail Builder Training. This course, taught and designed by Mike Riter of Trail Design Specialists, teaches participants every aspect of what it takes to build, design, and maintain trails to national trail standards. The 4 day course is over 30 hours of instruction split between the classroom and the field, leaving rangers with in-depth knowledge about the science of trails. This training furthers our efforts at Radnor Lake State Park, and all State Parks as a whole, to have the best and most sustainable trails in the nation. This class also built a small section of the Harris Ridge Trail as part of their certification to utilize skills from this course.

This training was made possible through generous financial assistance by the Friends of Radnor Lake, and the Tennessee State Parks Trail Pack.
