January 28th, 2017 Volunteer Trail Day at Radnor Lake
On Saturday, January 28th over 35 volunteers came to Radnor Lake to work with the park staff on two projects:
1. Volunteers assisted Ranger Dustin Crowell on the Lake Trail installing Christmas Tree Mulch with wheelbarrows from our Trees to Trails Program.
2. Ranger Will Peters worked with volunteers on the South Cove Trail, removing invasive-exotic bush honeysuckle as part of a continued effort since Weed Wrangle 2016 to remove all exotic plants between the South Cove and South Lake Trails.
We would like to thank all of our volunteers who helped us with both these projects, all of our neighbors and park visitors who have contributed their Christmas Trees to be recycled for trail mulch.
Special thanks to Friends of Radnor Lake for providing bottled water and pizza for all of our volunteers on our work day!
Our next Volunteer Trail Day will be February 25th (8am-Noon).
