International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (IAATE) Conference in Eugene, Oregon

Pictured above are our partners from American Eagle Foundation, Wings to Soar and Radnor Lake representing Tennessee at the conference this year.

Radnor Lake’s Park Manager Steve Ward was one of 160 attendees who traveled to Eugene, Oregon February 13th – 17th to attend the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (IAATE) Annual Conference.

The International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (IAATE) is an organization for individuals who are active in the field of avian training and who are involved in environmental education programs. IAATE was founded to foster communication, professionalism and cooperation among those individuals who serve Avian Science through training, public display, research, husbandry, conservation, and education.

The Mission of IAATE is to promote best practices in the field of avian care, training, and educational programming, and to inspire conservation of avian species and the natural world.

Thank you to Friends of Radnor Lake for their financial support to make this training opportunity possible as part of our standard of care and interpretive programming for our raptor ambassadors at the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center. Also, special thanks to the Radnor Lake staff who took on additional work at the park so that Park Manager, Steve Ward could attend this conference.
