First Hike: 2026 New Year’s Day Land Acquisition Hike with Ranger Brandon Jarratt

18 visitors joined Ranger Brandon Jarratt at 7am on January 1st for a moderate hike to one of the park’s newest 12-acres. This parcel was acquired in March 2023 thanks to the partnership between the State of Tennessee, Friends of Radnor Lake and a great adjoining landowner to ensure protection of our Lake Trail as we have grown to know it forever.

During this ranger led off-trail moderate hike (1.5 miles) we discussed our land acquisition priorities such as watershed and viewshed protection, resource management priorities and view one of our 2024 Big Tree Winners during the hike by the Nashville Tree Foundation.
