Brentwood Academy Volunteers at Radnor Lake

On January 27th, over 65+ volunteers came to Radnor Lake from Brentwood Academy to work with the park staff on our Trees to Trails Program which involves installing recycled Christmas Tree mulch on our trails via wheelbarrow.
Radnor Lake has recycled over 600+ Christmas Trees this year, including a 160+ trees donated from the Lowes Store #390 in Hermitage, TN. Clean Earth Chipper service has donated their time again this year (thank you Jonathan and crew!) to chip all of our donated trees into mulch which is used to improve the walking surface for our park visitors hiking the Lake and Spillway Trails.
In addition to reducing landfill space, this donated-recycled mulch also helps reduce sedimentation into the streams and lake, protects sensitive plants that grow along the trails and ensures our trails are maintained at a high standard for all of our park visitors hiking at the natural area.
Thank you to all of the students and staff from Brentwood Academy who came out on Monday morning to work with us and to all of our park visitors/neighbors who donated their Christmas Trees as part of our sustainability focus “Go Green” efforts at Radnor Lake.
Brentwood Academy has worked with us over the past 15 years by bringing students out twice a year to work with us on our trails. Thank you Brentwood Academy for your continued support at Radnor Lake!
