August Volunteer Day at Radnor Lake
23 Volunteers came out to work with our park staff for our monthly scheduled volunteer day on August 28th (2pm-5pm). Volunteers hiked 1.5 miles to the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center to assist us as we work toward completing our flighted eagle enclosure project. Started in June 2026, this 4 month long project will be completed in September 2026 so that this flighted enclosure is home to two non-releasable American bald eagles.
After our workday, volunteers were treated to three birds of prey glove programs by our park ranger staff with our raptor ambassadors. Thank you to al of our volunteer who came out to work with us. Special thank you to Friends of Radnor Lake for providing tools, bug spray, sunblock, gloves and bottled water for our volunteers.
