Just a few miles south of downtown Nashville, acidic soil – unique to this Central Basin area – allows flora such as oak, hickory, and beech to flourish around the park’s eponymous, man-made lake. Carpeted by wildflowers in the spring, there are more than six miles of trails to be explored and an all-terrain wheelchair has recently become available for use.
