After Thanksgiving Hikes (November 27, 2015)
As part of the Tennessee State Parks After Thanksgiving Hike Initiative, Radnor Lake offered two hikes on Friday, November 27, 2015.
15 park visitors attended the first hike. It was a 2 1/2 hour hike Friday morning at 10am to Harris Ridge (#1) led by Park Ranger Dustin Crowell. Acquired in 2011, this ridgetop is one of the park’s newest ridgetops along the southern boundary of Radnor Lake State Natural Area.
32 park visitors attended the second hike which began at 2pm and was a 3 1/2 hour hike to one of the park’s newest ridgetops along the southern boundary of Radnor Lake State Natural Area. This sunset hike led by Ranger Paul Schauer and Park Manager Steve Ward enabled park visitors to see the new ridgetop acquisition between the State of Tennessee and Friends of Radnor Lake as part of a 52 acre expansion that was announced on November 13th.
The next hike offered to this ridgetop will be on New Years Eve (Dec. 31st, 2015) at 10pm. Reservations will open December 20th at 10am and can be made by calling 615-373-3467.
