We kicked off our 2-days of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act Wednesday at the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Center with over 70 visitors attending!

Special thanks to our park staff who all worked a very busy few days managing visitation and providing these engaging interpretive programs for our visitors to kick off this historic event.

Today, Thursday, December 28th is officially the anniversary date. We will start early and cold at 7 am at the visitor center with Ranger Brandon Jarratt for a hike-spotting scope viewing of our eagle’s nesting on the lake.

Then at 2pm on Thursday afternoon, we cap off the day with a hike through the hall farm native grasslands with TDNA Director Roger McCoy and Ranger Matthew Bowling to recognize this historic day in conservation history.

Link below with registration and details for our events today. Hope to see you there!
