On August 21st, 2017…..over 750 park visitors came to Radnor Lake to view the Big Eclipse! This unique, once in a lifetime event for many was an opportunity for these park visitors to create a “sense of place” for this event with the park staff.
There are several partners to thanks for helping pull this off:
Radnor Lake Staff—–great job as usual by the park staff. Thank you each for all the hard work, planning and post clean up of this event.
Vanderbilt-Dyer Observatory—Rocky Alvey and staff for pre-eclipse planning, website information, educational information, eclipse glasses and training for our staff.
Friends of Radnor Lake—–for financial support to provide bottled water, pizza, educational displays, facebook/website support and other logistical support for our event.
Strong Tower Church—–for being great neighbors and providing overflow parking for our park guest on this day so all could attend.
Park Manager James Wilkinson from Meeman-Shelby State Park—–thank you James for bringing additional canoes for our event and for three days of your time to assist with our eclipse event!
Tennessee State Parks——thank you for your assistance in planning this event, press, glasses for our park visitors, etc……
Chestnut Group Volunteers—–thank you for your help on planning this event and planning for our fall event!
Last, thank you to all of our park guests who attended from all over the country and chose to spend this day at Radnor Lake State Natural Area. It was a great day.
