White-eyed Vireo

Species Details

Distinctively yellow around the white iris with a grey head, this small, active vireo has two white wingbars, green back and yellow sides. Found in dense growth on forest edges, these birds are more often identified by their emphatic “QUICK-with-the-beer-CHECK!” song before they are seen. Winters along the Gulf coast and in Central America and the Carribean.
