Rachel Carson Day at Radnor Lake
On Saturday, May 25 we celebrated Rachel Carson Day 2024 at the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center with a special open house to commemorate Rachel Carson. This is the 5th year we have held this special day in conservation, which included over 60 visitors attended interpretive programs and viewed educational information on Rachel Carson.
Rachel Carson Day is officially recognized as May 27th annually. In 1962, Rachel Carson book Silent Spring was released and helped shaped the mindset of our current day environmental professionals across the world.
