Harris Ridge Trail Project Sunset Hike on January 29, 2021

Four park visitors joined us for our strenuous interpretive sunset hike from the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center to Harris Ridge Tract #1 Ridgetop.  This 3.5 mile strenuous hike started at the Hall Farm, viewed our recent Native Grasslands Initiative work funded by Friends of Radnor Lake and then we climbed to one of the southeastern ridgetops to enjoy sunset (5:03pm).   

 

This ridgetop was acquired in 2011 and now protected forever as part of Radnor Lake State Natural Area thanks to the partnership between the Harris Family, the State of Tennessee, and Friends of Radnor Lake.  

 

This was the last hike of our 5 Sunset Hikes offered in January 2021 for park visitors to hike off-trail to view some of our recent land acquisition projects.
