Earth Day 2021 Volunteers needed at Radnor Lake!

We need you! Due to substantial flood impacts (on March 27th-28th) upon the natural area trails and Otter Creek Road, Radnor Lake will be hosting a special volunteer opportunity this coming Earth Day (April 22nd).

The focus of this special volunteer day will be water quality and impacts upon plant populations adjacent to the stream areas along Otter Creek and our wetland areas in the natural area. Specifically, removing debris, tires, fencing, trash and other materials that washed into the creek-future wetland areas during the flood.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Walter Criley Visitor Center at 2pm, then hike with a ranger off-trail with the goal of cleaning Otter Creek throughout the natural area. We need 20+ volunteers working with our park staff on cleaning the creeks, wetlands, and adjacent banks. We will then haul those materials to our maintenance area to be sorted, recycled and/or disposed of appropriately.

Volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves, wear clothes/shoes they can get dirty-wet, and Friends of Radnor Lake will be providing bottled water, insect repellent, high visibility vest and other supplies for this special Earth Day 2021 focus at Radnor Lake!

Thank you to all of our volunteers who support us at Radnor Lake and you can register for this event at the following link:
