Brentwood Academy Volunteers at Radnor Lake on February 2nd, 2015

Students and faculty from Brentwood Academy came to Radnor Lake on Monday, February 2nd to help the park staff work on mulching trails along the Historic Valve-House Trail and the Spillway Trail.  Over 30 students and faculty worked with SIR Will Peters and Ranger Dustin Crowell on spreading mulch along the trails with wheelbarrows.  Mulch for the trail work was provided with assistance from Clean Earth as part of our Trees to Trails Program at Radnor Lake which consist primarily of recycled Christmas Trees.  In addition, students and faculty helped spread 60 bales of pine straw on native plantings around the caretaker residence.  Special thanks to Buddy Alexander and faculty for working with the staff annually to schedule work days for students to help us at Radnor Lake!  Our next volunteer trail day for park visitors will be on February 28th, 2015. Hope you can join us for that day as we will be working on installing mulch on the Historic Valve House Trail, Spillway Trail and removing invasive-exotic plants at Radnor Lake.
