Big Payback (May 6, 2021) at Radnor Lake

This annual day of fundraising, hosted by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, is a community-wide giving day which shines a spotlight on local giving.

Our Big Payback goal is to raise $20,000 to help fund the captive eagle program at the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center at Radnor Lake for the upcoming year.

All 6 of our birds of prey at the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center have been deemed non-releasable due to the nature of their injuries, the funding from the Big Payback supports our staff’s efforts throughout the year to provide a high quality of care for our captive birds of prey ranging from food cost, improvements to their individual enclosures, annual training for our staff and individual special needs relative to each of the birds of prey injuries that prevent them from being able to be released back into the wild.

The Barbara J. Mapp Foundation continues to provide annual support of this program – from concept through the build, then helping us to sustain, maintain and improve this aviary facility for a high quality of care for the birds of prey under our care while also providing unique-engaging interpretive programming for all our visitors with a primary focus on visitors with special needs.
To help us with our fundraising goal, Barbara J. Mapp Foundation has once again generously pledged a $5,000 match for individual donations made through The Big Payback.

Thank you for consideration of providing a financial contribution today for the Big Payback for the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center at Radnor Lake!
