March Volunteer Day at Radnor Lake State Natural Area 2015

For our March Volunteer Day at Radnor Lake yesterday, 41 volunteers came out to work with the staff on removing invasive-exotic plants at the Hideaway Tract near Dyer Observatory.

These volunteers worked with SIR Will Peters and Ranger Dustin Crowell removing invasive bush honeysuckle, tree of heaven and privet as part of our resource management goal for 2015 to remove 100 acres of invasive plants from the natural area.

Thank you to all the volunteers and Radnor Staff who assisted with this project yesterday!

Special thanks to Friends of Radnor Lake for providing lunch for all the volunteers and to Granny White Market for their assistance with lunch as always!

Our next Volunteer Day at Radnor Lake will be on April 25th at 8am.  We will begin focusing our volunteer efforts on trail improvements on the the Lake Trail, South Cove and Ganier Ridge Trails this month.
