Green Heron at Radnor Lake

Recently, photographers have been spending long hours observing and trying to capture photos of the secretive Green Heron nesting on the Radnor Lake Dam near the west parking lot. The individual was noticed nesting in a Red Maple on May 13th;  the eggs typically take 19-21 days for incubation.  Photographers believe there are four to five eggs in the nest and with it being 21 days since the nest had been spotted the hatchling should be emerging from them.  The hatchlings will be in the nest for 16 -17 days before fledging the nest.
