State-endangered white water-buttercup at Radnor Lake

According to our partners at the Tennessee Division of Natural Areas, Radnor Lake is host to a plant known in only five sites in Tennessee. This plant is a very small white flowering plant which is found in the area known as the lagoon at the southeastern end of Radnor Lake.

This state-endangered white water-buttercup (Ranunculus aquatilis var. diffusus) also commonly called white crowfoot has been blooming at Radnor Lake State Natural Area since Memorial Day Weekend.

Since that time, the park ranger staff has been using spotting scopes along Otter Creek Road early/late in the day to educate park visitors about this unique endangered plant found at Radnor Lake.
