VMware Volunteers at Radnor Lake
Friday, November 7th volunteers from VMware came to Radnor Lake State Natural Area to work with the park ranger staff on the South Lake Trail. These volunteers worked long hours hauling recycled mulch in wheelbarrows and installing it along the trail which helps reduce sedimentation run-off (water quality), creates a more defined trail, protects adjoining plant life and creates a better hiking experience for park visitors.
VMware is a datacenter software provider based in Palo Alto, California. One of their core values as a company is to give back to the local community and encouraged to participate in volunteer activities throughout the year.
Many VMware employees are based in remote locations all over the globe, but a number of us are based in the Middle Tennessee area. “We’ve all enjoyed Radnor Lake with our families and thought it was time we gave back to the park for the benefit of all its visitors and to the natural habitat” said volunteer Ryan Starck.
We greatly appreciate VMware for their support of Radnor Lake State Natural Area and for working with the Park Ranger Leslie Anne Rawlings and Dustin Crowell to improve our trail system last week.
