S-212 Wildland Fire S-212 Training at Radnor Lake State Natural Area

Mike Huddleston instructed a 3 day course at Radnor Lake State Natural Area for Tennessee DIvision of Forestry Field Staff and Tennessee State Park Rangers on October 7th, 8th and 9th.
This was a national NWCG course used by Federal and State Agencies for unplanned but expected incidents like storms, wildfifres, or planned  management practices in this case controlling invasive and exotic-invasive vegetation that are not really “natural” to restore native trees and plants, removing “hazardous” trees in a high people use park, trail maintenance and improvement.
Perhaps most importantly, this 3 day class will raise the skill and safety levels for those operating chainsaws to accomplish these objectives within Tennessee State Forest, Tennessee State Parks and Tennessee State Natural Areas.
This 3-day training was made possible Friends of Radnor Lake, Tennessee Division of Forestry and Tennessee State Parks.
Special thanks to Mike Huddleston (Instructor), Robin Bible (Tennessee Division of Forestry), Shane Petty (Tennessee State Parks), Lyndy Maness (Radnor Lake SNA),   Gretchen Pritchett (Friends of Radnor Lake)  and Dan Smith (Granny White Market) for all of their help to make this training possible over this three day period.
