Radnor Lake Jr. Ranger Interns Buffalo River Clean-up on July 23rd, 2015

On July 23rd, Radnor Lake Staff and 12 Jr. Ranger Interns traveled to Wayne County to clean up 4 miles stretch of the Buffalo River in Flatwoods, Tennessee. This was the 3rd clean-up in a series of river clean ups since June on different sections of the Buffalo River. These river clean-up trips have resulted in 22+ miles of river to be cleaned of trash and over 34 tires collected and recycled thru Bridgestone’s Tires4ward Program.

Bridgestone Americas Tires4ward Program…….Greer Tidwell started us participating in this recycling initiative which results in all of the tires collected the past 3 years being recycled instead of going to a landfill. We have been able to recycle over 100 tires from these river clean-ups the past 3 years thanks to your program!
Subway on Hwy 13…… Sonny and staff for opening early to feed the Jr. Ranger Interns on each trip.
Flatwoods Canoe Base..….for all of your help ensuring our safe trips on the river, providing t-shirts to our interns, assisting with hauling trash and tires from the river and for your hospitality on each of our river clean-ups……you guys are awesome!
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Officers (from Wayne County) Brandon Taylor and Daniel Plunkett who assisted with all of these river clean-ups, scouted our routes prior to the clean up on the Buffalo River, etc……….Thank you Brandon and Daniel!
