National Trails Day at Radnor Lake SNA 2016

To celebrate National Trails Day today, Radnor Lake State Natural Area is hosting a series of events today for park visitors.

Starting at 7am this morning, Ranger Dustin Crowell led a hike for park visitors to the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Center for a tour and birds of prey program.

Then at 8am, we held a special volunteer trail day for park volunteers to help out with our Historic Valve House Project. As part of an on-going project with MTSU Global Studies Program, The Porch Company, Friends of Radnor Lake, Nashville Wire, park volunteers and other partners we are ahead of schedule in completing this project in 2016.

This morning,  25 Volunteers arrived this morning at 8am to work with Ranger Paul Schauer hauling rock by wheelbarrow .2 of a mile down trail and installing around the recently reconstructed Historic Valve House.

This evening, we will conclude the day with a sunset canoe float led by Ranger Will Peters at 7pm.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to help with our project today and for celebrating National Trails Day with us at Radnor Lake!
