National Public Lands Day – Volunteer Trail Day at Radnor Lake
Friday, September 29th (2pm-6pm). Join the Radnor Lake Staff for this special volunteer day to kick-off Tennessee State Parks Celebration of National Trails Day 2017. We will be working on a trail projects ranging from mulching the Lake Trail, South Cove Trail improvements and/or wrapping up our final Historic Valve House Trail Project. Pizza, gloves and bottled water provided by Friends of Radnor Lake. No reservations necessary.
National Public Lands Day – Harris 2 Sunrise Hike
Saturday, September 30th at 6am. Join Park Manager Steve Ward and Ranger Paul Schauer for a sunrise hike to kick-off Tennessee State Parks Statewide Celebration of National Trails Day. This hike will lead us to one of the park’s newest ridgetops that was acquired in 2015 in a partnership between the State of Tennessee, the Harris Family and Friends of Radnor Lake. See the view from the newly acquired ridgetop, learn about the watershed, viewhsed, historical and natural features of this property. Bring water, a walking stick, flashlight and wear sturdy shoes. This strenuous hike is off-trail and will last about 2+hours. Reservations are required and open Friday, September 22nd at 10am. Ages 15 and up.
