Fall Program Schedule 2014

 

History of Radnor Lake

 

• Sunday, October 19th at 3pm.  Join Ranger Sam King for a program on the history of Radnor Lake.  This program will start at the Visitor Center with a powerpoint presentation and conclude with a short hike to the Historic Valve-House Trail.  No reservations necessary.

Monday, October 27^th at 10am. Join Ranger Jesse Germeraad for a hike to one of the park’s newest ridgetops that was acquired in 2011 in a partnership between the State of Tennessee and Friends of Radnor Lake. See the view from the top and learn about the historical and natural features of this property. Meet at the Education Center. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes. This strenuous hike will last about 2 hours. Reservations are required and open Sunday, October 19th at 9:30am.  Ages 14 and up.

Join Ranger Leslie Anne Rawlings for a hike to one of the park’s newest ridgetops that was acquired in 2011 in a partnership between the State of Tennessee and Friends of Radnor Lake. See the view from the top and learn about the historical and natural features of this property. Meet at the East Parking Area. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes. This strenuous hike will last about 2 hours. Reservations are required and open Sunday, October 26th at 9:30am.  Ages 14 and up.

Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center Tours

 

•                         Friday, October 17^th at 5pm. Join Ranger Dustin Crowell for a hike to the aviary center for a tour while it is under construction for an overview of this environmental education project currently underway at Radnor Lake.  Hike is approximately 1.5 hour. Meet at the Hall Drive/Otter Creek Road.  Reservations are required and open on Sunday, October 12^th at 10am.
