Our 3rd Session of our Junior Ranger Intern Program at Radnor Lake concluded on Saturday, July 29, 2017. 14 interns (13-17 years old) worked with the park staff on numerous projects around the natural area.   Now in our 15th year of this program, the Jr. Ranger Intern Program creates an internship opportunity for these youth to work with state park rangers on trail projects at Radnor Lake, increase their exposure to environmental education programs

July 4th Canoe Floats at Radnor Lake

22 park visitors attended two floats by the park ranger staff this morning at Radnor Lake  (6am and 8am) to kick-off the 4th of July Holiday.  Interpretive canoe floats at Radnor Lake run thru Labor Day with our next round of ranger-led floats to be posted by the end of the day on Thursday, July 6th. On June 27th and 28th, 2017 the Radnor Lake Staff participated in two days of birds of prey training by our partners at Wings to Soar. This training was conducted by Dale Kernahan and John Stokes with the non-profit organization, Wings to Soar who have worked with the ranger staff at the Barbara J. Special Volunteer Day on June 26, 2017

On Monday, June 26th Radnor Lake hosted a special volunteer day (8am-4pm) for Tennessee Promise Students to acquire their community service required hours.   These 21 volunteers worked with the park ranger staff on mulching the Lake Trail via wheelbarrow and on a restoration/clean-up project at our Caretaker Residence at Radnor Lake.   Special thanks to Friends of Radnor Lake for providing gloves, bottled water and lunch (Pizza from
