It has been a busy week at Radnor Lake as the ranger staff has worked with over 100 volunteers this week installing mulch on the eastern portion of the Lake Trail with wheelbarrows. Over the past 3 months, the ranger staff has been working with numerous volunteers and volunteer groups to improve the drainage on the eastern half of the Lake Trail by installing gravel/rock on over 1/4 of a mile of trail and then adding 8" of mulch on all of the rock

Park Ranger Staff Canoe Training and Certification at Radnor Lake State Natural Area

The park ranger staff at Radnor Lake State Natural Area recenty completed two days of canoe instruction on August 6th and 7th through American Canoe Association instructors at Radnor Lake State Natural Area. The ranger staff were instructed in idenifying various lake and river features, hydrology, paddling techniques, trip planning, and basic rescue techniques. On Thursday, August 6th the first American Bald Eagle was transferred to the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center at Radnor Lake.  Radnor Lake Ranger Dustin Crowell and Season Interim Ranger Alex Kenney traveled to our partners at American Eagle Foundation headquarters in Pigeon Forge, TN to transfer our first eagle.
