Radnor Lake’s Jr. Ranger Intern Program 2014 (Session 1)

June 2014 Volunteer Day

Over 80+ volunteers came out to work at Radnor Lake for our monthly Volunteer Day.  Volunteers from REI, Hands on Nashville, local scout pack and Jr. Ranger Interns assisted by mulching the Lake Trail. Friends of Radnor Lake were set up in the West Parking Area promoting the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center Project and selling t-shirts. Friends of Radnor Lake at Blue Bird on the Mountain

Saturday, June 21, Friends of Radnor Lake was the recognized non-profit of the night. With record breaking attendance of 850, FORL brought awareness to their long term land acquisition and protection mission, and also highlighted the addition of the Aviary Education center project. National Trails Day 2014
Natl-Trails-Day

Radnor Lake State Natural Area and Friends of Radnor Lake have expanded National Trails Day into a 2-day event this year.     On Friday, June 6th there were over 105 volunteers from Deloitte and from Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation who helped out at the natural area by mulching eastern portions of the Lake Trail, removing an observation deck soon to be replaced and working at the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center.
